Matthew Makar is an award-winning filmmaker from New York
and founder of Elementary Films. Makar has recently finished
Producing and Co-Directing “Nursery University”, which premiered at
the Hamptons International Film Festival and will air in April of
2009 on the Showtime Network. Makar also Co-Directed and Produced
the Award winning film “Yellow Brick Road”, which has aired on HBO
Family and Cinemax. Makar has taught sports and other activities to
disabled children and adults for the last 10 years. He is currently
working a TV Show “Imagine My Life” that chronicles the story of a
man with cerebral palsy on his quest to record a rap song with his
hero. Makar worked in production for Miramax Films, Greene Street
Films, MTV and VH1 before deciding to direct his own films. Makar
is a consultant for documentaries, including Living in Emergency
(Doctors without Borders), which will premiere at this years Venice
International Film Festival and NBC's Meeting David Wilson.
